He helped form the Prague-based group in 1975 alongside Vladimír Tesařík, Ondřej Hejma and Julius Novotný Kuzma. Yo Yo Band went on to find its greatest success in the 1990s, with songs including “Karviná,” “Jedem do Afriky,” “Rybitví” and “Kladno.” The band’s work drew on reggae, jazz, Latin, calypso and pop, and it received an Anděl Award for Band of the Year.
