Walter Schultheiß, the German actor, author and painter known for his role as Der Eugen, died on December 22, 2025, at the age of 101.
Born in Tübingen in 1924, he began his career in 1947 as Pedro del Vegas in the operetta “Maske in Blau.” He became widely known in 1963 for his street sweeper sketches on Süddeutscher Rundfunk, where he and Werner Veidt performed as Karle and Gottlob for 20 years. Schultheiß also appeared in television films and series including “Oh God, Herr Pfarrer,” “Der König von Bärenbach,” and “Pfarrerin Lenau,” and remained active on stage in Stuttgart in later life.
