Thomas Paul Crook was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 16, 1944, and lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, throughout his life. He began playing guitar at age 4 and was appearing on local television in Tulsa by age 10.
Crook, whose work spanned bluegrass, country music and jazz, was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
