Born Sanford Wernick on March 22, 1939, in the Bronx, New York, he was a graduate of New York University and a partner at Brillstein Entertainment Partners. He produced ALF, Happy Gilmore, Def Comedy Jam and The Wedding Singer.
Wernick also worked as a talent manager for figures including Lorne Michaels, Tim Herlihy and Rob Schneider, and was best known as the longtime manager of Adam Sandler.
