Salim Kumar, an Indian actor and film director known for Karutha Joothan, Achanurangatha Veedu and Adaminte Makan Abu, died on June 6, 2026, at the age of 56 after a liver disease.
Born on October 10, 1969, in Chittatukara, he began his career in 1997 and became widely recognized in Malayalam cinema, first for comedy roles and later for character parts. His performance in Adaminte Makan Abu brought him the National Film Award for Best Actor in 2010, while Achanurangatha Veedu earned him a Kerala State Film Award.
He also directed Karutha Joothan, which won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Story in 2017.
