Roy Jackson, a British chemical engineer, died on July 20, 2026, aged 94.

Born in Manchester on October 6, 1931, he attended Bolton School before his studies were interrupted by service in the Royal Air Force. After his discharge, he went on to Trinity College, Cambridge, where he earned a BA in physics in 1954.

Jackson later worked as an engineer at Imperial Chemical Industries and from 1982 to 1998 served as a professor in the department of chemical engineering at Princeton University. During that period, he was named the Class of 1950 Professor in Engineering and Applied Science, and in 2000 he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society.
