Romuald Figuier dead at age 88, French singer

Romuald Figuier, a French singer, died on May 12, 2026, at the age of 88.

Born in Saint-Pol-de-Léon, Finistère, Brittany, on May 9, 1938, he was also known mononymously as Romuald. He represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 with “Où sont-elles passées,” finishing third.

In 1968, he represented Andorra at the III International Song Festival in Rio de Janeiro, where he placed fifth with “Le bruit des vagues,” and he finished fifth again the following year with “Tous les printemps du monde.”
