Robin Williams, a New Zealand mathematician, university administrator and civil servant who was a member of the Manhattan Project, died on March 18, 2013, aged 93.
Born Robert Martin Williams in Christchurch in 1919, he studied at Canterbury University College and later held senior academic and public-service posts. He was vice chancellor of the University of Otago from 1967 to 1972 and of the Australian National University from 1973 to 1975, before serving as chair of the State Services Commission from 1975 to 1981.
He died in Wellington.
