Sir Robin Denys Gill, a British business, investor and television executive, died on May 26, 2026.

Born on 7 October 1927, he attended Brasenose College, Oxford, and began his career with five years at Unilever before spending another five at British International Paper Ltd. In 1960 he founded Border TV and served as its managing director, then moved in 1964 to the Associated Television Corporation as managing director, a post he held until 1969.

He also chaired ITCA in 1966 and 1967 and ITN from 1968 to 1969. In 1990 he founded the Royal Anniversary Trust to help organise celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of Elizabeth II’s accession, later serving as its chairman of executive until 2010 and as chairman from 2002 to 2010.
