House of Representatives, died on September 30, 2026, at age 96. Born Patricia Hatsue Fukuda in Hilo, Hawaii, she graduated from Hilo High School and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa before teaching at schools in Honolulu and later in Toledo, Ohio, while her husband was in medical training.
A Republican, she entered elected office in 1968, served in the House from 1987 to 1991, and later led the Small Business Administration under President George H. W. Bush.
