
Paraskevas Antzas, the Greek footballer who played for Skoda Xanthi, Olympiacos and the national team, died on May 25, 2026, from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
He was 49. Antzas was a former professional defender whose career began with Pandramaikos in 1993.
He joined Skoda Xanthi in 1995 and moved to Olympiacos in 1998, where he made 76 league appearances before leaving in 2003. He later retired from international football in 2008 and played his final career match on May 3, 2009.
