Born Ralf Örjan Valter Ramberg in Örgryte, Gothenburg, he began his career in 1970 and went on to train at Sweden’s National Academy of Dramatic Art. Ramberg first drew attention in musical productions, including original Swedish stagings of Hair in 1971 and Jesus Christ Superstar in 1972.
His later screen work included appearances in Marie-Louise Ekmans Utflykter, Solsidan and The Orchestral Pit. He was also a recipient of the Litteris et Artibus and Eugene O’Neill awards.
