Monic Cecconi-Botella French pianist, composer and academic dead at age 89

Monic Cecconi-Botella, a French pianist, music educator and composer, died on December 28, 2025.

Born in Courbevoie on September 30, 1936, she studied at the Conservatoire de Paris with Maurice Duruflé, Jean Rivier and Henri Dutilleux. She later taught music theory at the Conservatoire of Aubervilliers and, from 1983, music analysis at the Conservatoire de Paris.

In 1966, she won a First at the Prix de Rome. Her opera Noctuaile received a Grand Prix du Disque, and in 2008 she founded the Festival Seasons of the Voice in Gordes, Provence.

Monic Gabrielle Cecconi-Botella (30 September 1936 – 28 December 2025) was a French pianist, music educator and composer.
