Max O’Halloran, an Australian rules footballer who played for Footscray and Carlton in the Victorian Football League, died on July 15, 2026.
Born on May 20, 1952, O’Halloran began his career in Tasmania before moving into VFL football with Footscray and Carlton. He later went on to coaching roles with Darwin and Windsor-Zillmere in Brisbane, and after moving to Cairns he continued his football involvement with South Cairns and North Cairns.
O’Halloran also served on the board of AFL Cairns and received life membership of both AFL Cairns and the North Cairns Football Club.
