She was 101. Born Maria Rudge in Brixen, Italy, on July 9, 1925, she was the daughter of poet Ezra Pound and violinist Olga Rudge.

De Rachewiltz translated Pound’s The Cantos into Italian and published her childhood memoir Discretions in 1971. Her work also included writing, translation and editing, and she was married to Boris de Rachewiltz. She is survived by her children, Siegfried Rachewiltz and Patrizia de Rachewiltz.
