Marcelo Moren Brito, a Chilean agent of the Dirección de Inteligencia Nacional, died on September 11, 2015, aged 80.
Born Marcelo Luis Manuel Moren Brito on July 27, 1935, in Temuco, he was a Chilean military officer who served in the Army and later became a former agent of DINA, the secret police under the Pinochet dictatorship. He held senior responsibilities as chief of operations and headed Villa Grimaldi, DINA’s detention center in Peñalolén.
Brito was also identified with the Caravan of Death, the 1973 military operation in which prisoners were executed while in custody.
