Joseph T.
Threston, an American Navy systems engineer known for his contributions to the development of the Aegis Combat System, died on March 8, 2026. Threston began his career in 1959 at Hughes Aircraft Company in the Guided Missile Laboratory, where he worked on the further development and production of the Falcon Missile system.
In the 1960s, he joined RCA Corporation and made significant contributions to the development of the Aegis Combat System. He later received several awards and honors, including the Harold E. Saunders Award from the American Society of Naval Engineers in 1991 and the IEEE Simon Ramo Medal in 1995.
