José Legrá, the Cuban-born Spanish boxer who twice held the WBC world featherweight title, died on July 14, 2026.

Born José Adolfo Legrá Utría in Baracoa, Cuba, on April 19, 1943, he turned professional in Cuba in 1960 and later built a career that took him to Mexico and Spain. After moving to Spain in 1963, he established himself as one of the leading featherweights of his era, regaining the EBU featherweight title before defending it five times and later winning two WBC world featherweight championships.
