Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, an Indian-born British academic and political activist, died on April 18, 2026, at the age of 86.

He was a leader of the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain, which he co-founded in 1992, and later served as director of The Muslim Institute, one of Britain’s oldest Muslim think-tanks, which he helped establish in 1973. Siddiqui also organised Malcolm X’s visit to Sheffield University on December 4, 1964, and after the death of Kalim Siddiqui in 1996 he became director as the institute was re-established as an independent organisation.
