Geoff Hickson, the English footballer who played as a goalkeeper, died on October 3, 2026, aged 87.

Born in Crewe in 1939, he came through as an amateur with Coventry City, Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers before signing professionally for Stoke City in 1959. He went on to make Football League appearances for Crewe Alexandra, Port Vale, Southport and Stoke City, and was part of the Crewe side that won promotion from the Fourth Division in 1962–63.

Hickson was also one of six post-war players to represent both Stoke City and Crewe Alexandra.
