A native of Podbořany, he served as bishop of the Pilsen diocese from 2012 to 2023 and later focused on publishing and on spiritual accompaniment for people facing mental distress. Štojdl studied theology at the Hussite Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague and at Ruprecht Karl University in Heidelberg, was ordained in 2001, and also worked in church disciplinary and diocesan bodies.
Outside his clerical office, he was active as a photographer and author.
