Known also as David Keith Cobb, he was an American political activist, lawyer and environmentalist born in San Leon, Texas. Cobb emerged as a leading contender for the Green nomination in 2004 after Ralph Nader opted not to seek it, and he won the first Green primary that year, in the District of Columbia.
He later served as campaign manager for fellow Green Jill Stein during her 2016 presidential campaign.
