Biren Sing Engti, an Indian politician, died on March 10, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born on March 2, 1945, in Barhoigaon, Karbi Anglong district, Assam Province, British India, he was from Karbi Anglong, Assam, and a member of the Indian National Congress. Engti represented the Diphu Lok Sabha constituency of Assam and won five general elections, in 1977, 1984, 2009, and twice in 2014.
He also served as Minister of State under Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and related portfolios.
