
Betty Roe, an English composer, singer and vocal coach, died on May 24, 2026, aged 95.
Roe, whose career also included work as a conductor, was active from 1976 to 2026. Born in North Kensington, London, on July 30, 1930, she studied piano from the age of six and began writing music and arrangements in her teens during World War II.
In the 1950s, she became involved with a drama group and began writing for musicals, while also working as a session singer with London ensembles and in light entertainment.
