Benoist Rey, a French writer, died on May 22, 2026, at the age of 87.
Born on June 2, 1938, in Paris, he was a typesetter for Marchand before serving in the Algerian War. He later wrote Les Égorgeurs, a book drawn from that traumatic experience, and received the 1999 Grand prix Ni Dieu ni maître for the work.
