Benjamin Swan, the American politician who served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1995 to 2017, died on May 25, 2026.
He was 92. Swan represented the 11th Hampden District in the Massachusetts House from 1995 to 2016.
Born in Belzoni, Mississippi, he attended Howard University and received a master’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1977. In 2014, he was one of five members of the legislative body who voted against the expulsion of State Representative Carlos Henriquez.
