Arleen Schloss, an American performance artist, died on May 23, 2026.
She was 82. Schloss was known for performance art, video and film art, sound poetry, directing and curating, and for A’s, her interdisciplinary loft space in New York City.
Her work was associated with the lower Manhattan art, video art, performance art and No Wave music scenes, and she also helped organize exhibitions at Danceteria and the Storefront for Art and Architecture.
