Ann Kaiser, an American academic, died on September 13, 2026, aged 78.
Born in Great Bend, Kansas, on March 1, 1948, she earned an undergraduate degree in political science and speech from Kansas State University in 1970 and went on to receive a PhD in child and developmental psychology from the University of Kansas in 1974. She later completed postdoctoral work with the National Institutes of Health and the Kansas Neurological Institute before joining Vanderbilt University, where she served as a professor in the department of special education.
At Vanderbilt, she was named the Susan Gray Chair in Education and Human Development and, in 2001, the Harvie Branscomb Distinguished Professor.
