Anatoly Mikhaylov, a Belarusian radiologist and member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, died on August 14, 2026, aged 89.
Born on November 3, 1936, in Vitebsk District, then in the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic, he graduated from the Vitebsk Medical Institute in 1961. He went on to work in hospitals in the Brest region and later as a radiologist in Gomel.
In 1966, Mikhaylov joined the Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Education as a postgraduate student, later serving there as an assistant and associate professor before becoming head of the radiology department in 1977. He received a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree in 1974 and was recognized with the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus and the Medal of Francysk Skaryna.
