Aleksander Papiewski, a Polish football manager, died on April 27, 2026, aged 86.
He was best known for guiding Śląsk Wrocław to second place in the 1977–78 Ekstraklasa, and his coaching career began at the club in the 1960s, when he worked with youth teams. Papiewski later coached Strzelinianka Strzelin, Broń Radom and Pafawag Wrocław before returning to Śląsk in the 1970s, where he took charge of the reserves and later served as Władysław Żmuda’s assistant manager.
