
2026 Crimea Antonov An-26 crash, a Russian military pilot and commander, died on March 30, 2026, when an Antonov An-26 of the Russian Air Force crashed into a cliff in Crimea.
The aircraft was transporting military personnel and servicemen of the Northern Fleet. All 30 people aboard were killed.
According to an initial assessment reported by RIA Novosti, technical problems were believed to have caused the crash. Lieutenant-General Aleksandr Otroshchenko, commander of the Northern Fleet’s Air Corps, was reported among the victims, along with six staff officers.
