Willie Watson, a Scottish footballer who played as a defender, died on March 29, 2026.
Born William Watson on 4 December 1949, he signed with Manchester United in 1970 and made limited appearances for the club. He went on loan to the Miami Toros of the North American Soccer League in 1973 before making a free transfer to Motherwell.
In 1978, he moved to Dundee for two seasons. Watson later moved to the United States in 1980 and signed with the Phoenix Inferno of the Major Indoor Soccer League, where he spent four seasons.
