William W.
Parmley, an American cardiologist, died on May 23, 2026, at age 90. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on January 22, 1936, and was also known as William Watts Parmley.
Parmley studied at Harvard University and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and he worked at the University of California, San Francisco, where he served as chief of cardiology. He also wrote on cardiovascular medicine and served as editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and as president of the American College of Cardiology.
