Toumba Diakité Guinean politician and convicted criminal, peritonitis dead at age 57

Toumba Diakité, a Guinean politician and convicted criminal, died on March 24, 2026, of peritonitis.

Also known as Aboubacar Sidiki Diakité, he served as aide-de-camp to President Moussa Dadis Camara from 2008 to 2009 and headed the presidential guard during that period. He later founded the Democratic Party for Change (PDC) and became its president on September 21, 2024.

In July 2024, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for crimes against humanity.

Aboubacar Sidiki Diakité (30 April 1968 – 25 March 2026), better known as Toumba Diakité, was a Guinean politician and convicted criminal. From 2008 to 2009, Diakité was the aide-de-camp of President Moussa Dadis Camara, whom he tried to assassinate, and head of the presidential guard. Since September 21, 2024, he has been president of the Democratic Party for Change (PDC), which he founded. In July 2024, he was sentenced to ten years in prison for crimes against humanity.
