Leonard, an American politician and jurist who served as a United States district judge for the Western District of Oklahoma, died on March 2, 2026, at age 86. Born in Beaver, Oklahoma, on January 22, 1940, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1962 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1965.

He served in the United States Navy as a lieutenant commander in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1965 to 1968 and as a United States Naval Reserve lieutenant from 1968 to 1972. Leonard was nominated to the federal bench by President George H. W. Bush in 1991, confirmed by the Senate in 1992, and assumed senior status in 2006.

Timothy Dwight Leonard (January 22, 1940 – March 2, 2026) was a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
