U. Kuruvilla, an Indian politician who served as a Kerala MLA from 2006 to 2016, died on May 29, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on September 13, 1936, at Oonjapara in Kothamangalam, he represented the Kothamangalam constituency in the Kerala Legislative Assembly for two consecutive terms, winning election in 2006 and 2011. A member of Kerala Congress (Mani), Kuruvilla also held office as Public Works Minister briefly during his public career. Before entering the assembly, he worked as an agriculturist and businessman and had earned a diploma in civil engineering.
