Sir Jeremy Hanley, the British politician who served as a Member of Parliament from 1983 to 1997, died on May 22, 2026, aged 80.
Born Jeremy James Hanley on 17 November 1945, he represented Richmond and Barnes in the House of Commons and was chairman of the Conservative Party from 1994 to 1995. Before entering Parliament, he worked as a chartered accountant and lecturer in law and accountancy.
He was educated at Rugby School and was made a Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George.
