Along with DJ E-Z Rock, whose real name was Rodney “Skip” Bryce, he formed the Harlem hip-hop duo that became best known for the 1988 single “It Takes Two.” The song reached the Billboard Hot 100, was certified platinum by the RIAA, and helped establish the duo as pioneers of rap’s crossover success in mainstream popular music. Their self-titled album was also certified platinum.
