Phil Garner, an American baseball player and manager, died on April 11, 2026, of pancreatic cancer.

He was 76. Garner played in Major League Baseball as an infielder with the Oakland Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants from 1973 to 1988.

With the Pirates, he won the 1979 World Series over the Baltimore Orioles. He also managed the Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros. Garner was born in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and grew up in Rutledge, Tennessee.
