Nina Gabrielyan, a Russian-Armenian writer and artist, died on February 24, 2026.
Born in Moscow on October 16, 1953, she studied at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages. Gabrielyan published in several genres, including poetry and fiction, and also worked as a poetry translator, poet, and culture expert.
Her story collection Master of the Grass was translated into English under the Glas New Russian Writing imprint. Trained as an artist with Boris Otarov, she worked mainly in oil and crayon, and her works are held in museum and private collections in Russia, Armenia, the United States, Great Britain and Italy.
