Linda Seger American author dead at age 80

Linda Seger, an American author and screenwriting consultant, died on February 16, 2026, at age 80.

Best known for her books on screenwriting, she was born in Peshtigo, Wisconsin, and grew up there. Seger earned an undergraduate degree from Colorado College in 1967, followed by an MA in Religion in Arts from the Pacific School of Religion in 1973 and a Th.D.

in Drama and Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in 1976. She also worked as a script consultant and consulted on more than 80 produced films and television episodes before retiring in 2020. In addition to screenwriting, she wrote books on spirituality and religion.

Linda Sue Seger (August 27, 1945 – February 16, 2026) was an American author and screenwriting consultant. She is best known for her books on screenwriting.
