Janina Borońska, a Polish film and theatre actress, died on February 5, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born in Litzmannstadt, Reichsgau Wartheland, Germany, now Łódź, Poland, on June 16, 1943, she debuted in theater in 1966 and graduated from the National Film School in Łódź in 1967. She obtained a master’s degree in 1969 and was awarded the Cross of Merit in silver in 1985 and gold in 2000.
Borońska was also the mother of composer and vocalist Jacek Łągwa.
