Hellmut Lorenz, an Austrian art historian, died on February 6, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on June 11, 1942, in Vienna, he was a longtime professor at the University of Salzburg and the Free University of Berlin. In 2012, he received the Wilhelm Hartel Prize from the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
