Eigra Lewis Roberts, a Welsh-language author and writer, died on March 5, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born in Blaenau Ffestiniog on 7 August 1939, she wrote about 30 plays, short stories, children’s books and novels. Roberts won several awards at the National Eisteddfod of Wales.
She attended Ffestiniog County School, studied at University College of North Wales in Bangor, taught in Holyhead and Llanrwst, and lived in Dolwyddelan. She also held an honorary MA from the University of Wales.
