Dominic Frimpong Ghanaian footballer, shot dead at age 20

Dominic Frimpong, a Ghanaian professional footballer who played for Berekum Chelsea, died on April 12, 2026, after he was shot when the club’s team bus was attacked by armed robbers.

He was 20. Frimpong played as a winger for the Ghana Premier League club and joined Berekum Chelsea on loan from Aduana FC during the 2025–26 season.

He made 13 league appearances and scored two goals. He was returning from a Premier League match against FC Samartex when masked gunmen blocked the road and fired on the bus. Frimpong was struck by gunfire, later died at the hospital, and was the only reported fatality.
