Dabirul Islam, a Bangladeshi politician and longtime member of parliament, died on May 28, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born on September 29, 1948, he represented Thakurgaon-2 in the Jatiya Sangsad across multiple terms, serving from 1986 to 1987, from 1991 to 1995, and again from 1996 until 2024. A member of the Bangladesh Awami League, he was known for his long parliamentary career and for chairing the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs.
