Bevan Morris, an Australian-born American academic and politician who served as president of Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, for 36 years and was a founder of the Natural Law Party, died on February 26, 2026, at age 76.
Born in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1949, he received degrees in psychology and philosophy from Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and later earned graduate and doctoral degrees from Maharishi European Research University in the Netherlands and Switzerland. Appointed president and chairman of the board of trustees of Maharishi International University in 1980, he led the institution through its expansion and later accreditation through the PhD level.
