Clarkson, an American physician, hematologist and oncologist, died on December 20, 2025. Born in New York City on July 15, 1926, he graduated from Yale and earned his M.D.

from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1952. He completed his medical internship and residency in endocrinology and hematology at New York Hospital, now Weill Cornell Medical Center. In 1958, he became a Special Lasker Fellow in Clinical Chemotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Bayard Delafield Clarkson Sr. (July 15, 1926 – December 20, 2025) was an American physician, hematologist and oncologist.
