Antônio Salim Curiati dead at age 98, mayor of São Paulo and deputy, and twice São Paulo MLA

Antônio Salim Curiati, Brazilian politician and physician who served as mayor of São Paulo and later as a deputy, died on May 25, 2026.

He was 98. Curiati was born in Avaré on February 13, 1928, and held office as mayor of São Paulo from 1982 to 1983.

He also served as a federal deputy from 1987 to 1991 and was elected twice to the São Paulo state legislature.
